The NUGC, as the men’s amateur golf governing body in Northumberland, focuses on administering county championships, team competitions, and coaching programs. Affiliated with England Golf, the NUGC manages course measurements and slope ratings for its member clubs and serves as the local authority on the R&A Rules of Golf and Handicapping.

North & South Trophy
Close House Golf Club hosted the North & South Trophy on Saturday 4 May. The course was in immaculate condition, despite a deluge of rain the night before the Event. A huge thanks to Close House, they looked after us very well, it was good to be back there. In
Inter County Foursomes- Finals
Finally the weather was on our side as we travelled to Alnmouth Village for the Inter County foursomes finals. We were greeted with a day of bright sunshine on an immaculately presented course.
NUGC v Lothians Golf Association
This Sunday, 21 April, we play our annual match against our friends from north of the Border, the Lothians Golf Association This is a 12 per side fixture, with morning foursomes and afternoon singles. First tee is 10:18. Goswick Links are kindly allowing us to use their course for this important
Inter County Foursomes
The sun shone for long enough to allow us to complete the Second and Third rounds of the Inter County Foursomes. In the final four second round games, played at Newbiggin, there were wins for The Northumberland, Newbiggin, Newcastle United and Backworth.
