Affiliated with England Golf, the NUGC manages course measurements and slope ratings for its member clubs and serves as the local authority on the R&A Rules of Golf and Handicapping.

Lancashire v NUGC Seniors – Stand Golf Club- 18 May 2026
The Northern Counties Senior League got underway today, where we travelled to Stand Golf Club to face Lancashire. There were some familiar faces in the line up, with Captain Steve Anderton awarding a debut to Ponteland’s Nick Jones, and bringing Graham Forrest back into the Team after a 7 year
Philip Ridden – 100 Not Out
The Northern Counties Fixture between Northumberland and Cheshire on 9 May 2026, marked a special moment for City of Newcastle player Philip Ridden, who gained his 100th cap for the County. In doing so becoming only the 5th player in the 119 year history of the Northumberland Union of Golf
NUGC v Cheshire- Northern Counties – Alnmouth GC – 9 May 2026
We entertaimed Cheshire, where we ran out 11-7 winners in our first Northern Counties match of the season at a superbly presented Alnmouth Golf Club (Foxton Hall). Firstly a huge thank you to the Club for hosting us today – specifically to Daniel and the Office Team, Jim and the
