The Northern Counties Fixture between Northumberland and Cheshire on 9 May 2026, marked a special moment for City of Newcastle player Philip Ridden, who gained his 100th cap for the County. In doing so becoming only the 5th player in the 119 year history of the Northumberland Union of Golf Clubs to reach that milestone. He joins the legendary names

We entertaimed Cheshire, where we ran out 11-7 winners in our first Northern Counties match of the season at a superbly presented Alnmouth Golf Club (Foxton Hall). We were at the wonderful Bamburgh Castle Golf Club for the 2026 North-South Trophy, where a field of 81 competed to win our first individual scratch competition of the season.
