WHS Seminars
Today, we held two WHS Seminars at Morpeth Golf Club, where we had 74 attendees spread evenly between the two sessions.
A big thanks to Danny Finlay, our Regional Handicap adviser, for organising and taking the lead, he was supported by our County Handicap adviser Michael Arkle.
Representing the Northumberland Ladies Golf Association, we had Secretary Bernie Legg and County Handicap adviser Gemma Duxfield.
We also Neil Burke and Nikki Richardson, from England Golf, to lend their support.
There was representation from over 30 of our Clubs, which is very encouraging, we will be looking to host a ‘mop up’ session for those who were unable to attend.
The feedback and interaction from the attendees was very encouraging, with lots of queries and questions being cleared up on the day.
Inter County Foursomes
The 2023 season got off to its traditional start with the Inter County Foursomes, which were held at Magdalene Fields and Alnmouth Village Golf Clubs on the 1st and 2nd of April.
32 Teams started out on Saturday morning, on a cool and damp day at Magdalene Fields- despite the tough conditions there was some good golf played, with some games needing extra holes to bring them to a conclusion.
Junior Presentation Evening
The annual presentation for both the Junior Golf league and County Junior events took place at Ponteland Golf Club. The event was supported by over 100 people, including Boys, Girls, Parents and Grandparents. A great celebration of the years golf.
Northern Counties Boys Final
Our Juniors won the Northern Counties Boys final for the second year running. An 8.5 to 6.5 over Yorkshire on a bright, cool and breezy day. Northern Counties Boys Final
Arcot Hall Golf Club hosts the Northern Counties Boys Final on 9 October 2022. Northumberland take on Yorkshire in this 10 per side match, with Foursomes in the morning and singles in the afternoon. Play will commence at 9am. Please come along to support the boys and watch some high quality golf.

Congratulations to John Wood of Arcot Hall on winning the County Forster Cup at Prudhoe GC with 41 stableford points. A huge thank you to Prudhoe GC for presenting the course in great condition and all the catering staff for looking after everyone on the day.
