The 2023 season got off to its traditional start with the Inter County Foursomes, which were held at Magdalene Fields and Alnmouth Village Golf Clubs on the 1st and 2nd of April.

32 Teams started out on Saturday morning, on a cool and damp day at Magdalene Fields- despite the tough conditions there was some good golf played, with some games needing extra holes to bring them to a conclusion.

After a long day we were left with 8 Teams, who headed to the Village on Sunday morning, in bright and sunny conditions.

It was great to see the experience of John Metcalfe and Neil Graham come up against the youth of Junior Dobson and Rob Henderson- where there was over 70 years difference in the combined ages of the 2 Teams, confirming age is no barrier in our sport.

Some tough matches in the morning saw the field reduced to 4 Teams, with Westerhope facing Hexham and The Northumberland coming up against Magdalene Fields, for a place in the final.

Hexham came through a tight match on the 18th, with The Northumberland winning on the 15th. They will contest the Northumberland final on Sunday 17 September, at South Shields Golf Club, with the winners playing our opposition from Durham in the Inter County Foursomes final.
