The Northumberland County Seniors team travelled to Otley GC in Yorkshire yesterday for a very tough Northern Counties Seniors league fixture.

Otley GC was immaculately presented with a very challenging 5 hole start. Their hospitality and catering on the day was first class.

The weather was excellent and the match was played in a fair breeze with very warm sunshine.

Northumberland trailed 4-2 in the morning9-hole Greensomes. Not quite the start we were looking for.

However in the afternoon 4-balls Northumberland were the victors with a score of 9-3 giving an overall match result of Yorkshire 7-11 Northumberland. What an afternoon fightback and turn around. A win that can only be described as outstanding. So that’s 2 wins on the road away this year following our earlier win away to Cheshire.

The only defeat to date this season being Lancashire away.
