Philip Ridden – 100 Not Out

The Northern Counties Fixture between Northumberland and Cheshire on 9 May 2026, marked a special moment for City of Newcastle player Philip Ridden, who gained his 100th cap for the County.

In doing so becoming only the 5th player in the 119 year history of the Northumberland Union of Golf Clubs to reach that milestone.

He joins the legendary names of Peter Deeble, Sandy Twynholm, Jimmy Hayes and current Captain Andrew Minnikin in achieving this feat.

Phil made his debut against Yorkshire in 2003, and has never looked back, achieving an incredible 51% win ratio from those 100 caps.

He is pictured below receiving a memento from County President John Bell.

Well done, on a great accomplishment.
