The 2025 Northern Counties Seniors league season started with a winning home match for Northumberland v. Cheshire at Burgham Park GC on Tuesday 20th May 2025. A great start to the season.

The course was presented superbly by Burgham Park GC. The course, catering and on the day support by David and his team was greatly appreciated. We always get a warm welcome at Burgham Park GC. Thank you. That included arranging very sunny and warm weather on the day.

Paul Brennan the Northumberland County President provided support on the day. It was also good to see John Fletcher in the afternoon following the matches. Thanks to both for attending and their support.

Northumberland and Cheshire shared the points 3-3 in the morning Greensomes. A good start to the day.

In the afternoon Fourballs Northumberland prevailed the winners by 9-3 with the final score being a very creditable win of 12-6 by Northumberland. The results sheet is attached for reference. 7 of the 12 matches were very close with the result going down to the wire on the last hole.

On the day John Metcalfe and Sandy Twynholm were presented with their County Seniors colours for achieving the required 7.5 points in matches for the County. Congratulations to John and Sandy.

The next fixture for Northumberland Seniors is at home to Lancashire on Monday 16th June 2025 at Hexham GC.
