The NUGC, as the men’s amateur golf governing body in Northumberland, focuses on administering county championships, team competitions, and coaching programs. Affiliated with England Golf, the NUGC manages course measurements and slope ratings for its member clubs and serves as the local authority on the R&A Rules of Golf and Handicapping.

Northumberland & Durham Inter County Foursomes- Finals – Whitburn Golf Club
A cool and breezy day greeted the County Finalists, who were playing for a place in the Northumberland & Durham Inter County Foursomes Final. The Northumberland Final was contested between Bedlingtonshire, who were represented by Ben Brown and Jack Baird, and the Goswick duo of Joe Atkinson and Alan Potts.
Lothians v NUGC – Baberton Golf Club – 20 April 2025
A sunny but cool day at Baberton Golf Club, in Edinburgh, where our annual fixture against the Lothians Golf Association took place today. New Captain Andrew Minnikin gave full debuts to the Bedlingtonshire duo of Ben Brown and Jack Baird. In what is always a tough fixture, we trailed 3.5
Northumberland & Durham Inter County Foursomes- Rounds 1-4, 5-6 April.
The traditional opening event of the season, the Inter County Foursomes, took place on the links of Dunstanburgh and Warkworth Golf Clubs, over the weekend of 5 and 6 April. A massive thanks to both Clubs who presented their courses in superb condition. All players were looked after very well
Peter Davey 1960-2024
The Northumberland Union of Golf Clubs is saddened to hear the news that Peter Davey has passed away after a short illness, at the age of 64. Peter was the County Captain between 2002 & 2004, he was a hugely respected figure within golf and beyond, playing out of Newcastle
