A field of 72 players competed for the North and South Trophy at Whitley Bay Golf Club.

We must firstly thank Whitley Bay for hosting us today, the course was presented in excellent condition and we were really well looked after in the Clubhouse- thank you.

The stiff northerly breeze proved a real challenge for the players, with the exception of the Arcot Hall player Paul Caldicott who fired an impressive 3 under par 69 to lead by 3 from Junior Dobson, Carl Thompson and David Ridley.

The tough conditions didnt subside in the afternoon and it was Junior Dobson who held his nerve to post an excellent 143 total, to win by 2 from County Captain Andrew Minnikin and Carl Thompson.

A huge congratulations to Junior on winning his first individual Men’s title, we are delighted for you.
